One of the primary mechanisms used by Dublin City Childcare Committee for delivering supports to childcare providers and parents at a local level is achieved through the Local Childcare Resource Centres (LCRC’s). There are five LCRC’s in each of the five Dublin City Council administrative areas across Dublin City.

In 2009 TAP successfully tendered to operate the LCRC for theDublin Central Area.
The Local Childcare Resource Centre is a service working within the community offering information and support to parents, providers of childcare, childcare workers, home-based childminders and employers.The LCRC provides information and support on the following:
- Grants and supports available for childcare providers, both centre and home-based;
- Information on Parent and Toddler Groups
- Training and career path information;
- Siolta (National Quality Frame Work)
- Aistear (National Curriculum Framework)
- Support with policies and procedures
- Pre-school regulations compliance
- Services of voluntary & statutory agencies
- Training and support to Childminders in the home
- Information on Dublin City Childcare Committee.
The Central Area includes the neighbourhoods of Ashtown, Botanic, Cabra East & West, Drumcondra South, Arran Quay, Ballybough, Inns Quay, Mount joy, North City, North Dock, Rotunda, East wall. The LCRC for this area is located in the Tolka Area Partnership office in Cabra.
Current training includes: Child Protection, Business Workshop, and First Aid Quality Awareness Programme.
Technical Support
Support is provided to childcare providers locally in relation to Policies, Human Resources, Governance, Training and Networking.
Funding Support
Support is provided to childcare providers in order to assist them in accessing funding from National Childcare Investment Programme, including Community Childcare Subvention and Early Childhood Care and Education Scheme (ECCE). Funding is also provided for training /workshops and networks.

Dublin City North West Area Childcare Resource Centre
The area includes the neighbourhoods of Ballymun, Ballygall, Finglas North & South, Glasnevin North, Whitehall & parts of Santry.The LCRC for this area is located in the Ballymun Whitehall Area Partnership office in Ballymun.
