Enterprise Development Department:
The Tolka Area Partnership Enterprise Department aims to support individuals interested in self-employment. Our Enterprise support staff will guide you through the steps required to turn your idea into a business venture by providing the following:
- General advice and support for clients that are considering self employment
- Training supports in terms of the Start Your Business Course, Bookkeeping and Accounting for Small Business and Selling in the Tough Times workshops.
- Assistance and advice on company and tax registration.
- Assistance with the preparation of a business plan
- Mentor support as required
- Advice and support in applying for the Back to Work Enterprise Allowance scheme
Business Networks Within The TAP Area:
Building up a network of diverse people is very helpful for any business. Contacts with different groups should help your business increase exposure. The more diverse the network the better. When you attend group meetings, collect the business cards of other people. Meeting people frequently could help you to could bring you business.Networking should help you to expand your business contact listand this in turn should help you to expand your sales base. However busy you are you should give importance to networking.You should always try to keep in touch will the contacts you have developed.But networking is not all about taking, you need to offer support to the other members of your network as this will create goodwill. The Dublin Area has seen many business networks form over recent years. The following section will give you an idea of the various business networks operating within the Tolka Area Partnership area
The Cabra Business Association (CBA)
This newly formed business network was established for all businesses, large and small, within the Cabra Area. The network hopes to increase awareness within the area of the exceptional quality and craftsmanship available from traders and to increase interaction between the business community and the local area through community events. It is hoped that through collective knowledge and experience that the issues being faced by the business community within Cabra can be examined to the benefit of all. Drumcondra Business Initiative (DBI)

Tolka Women in Business Network
This unique group is facilitated by the Enterprise Section of the Tolka Area Partnership and offers members an informal setting where members can pool their individual skills through interaction with other women in business to facilitate business development. The group usually meets once a month at the Finglas Office of the Tolka Area Partnership.
